Andrew Luck took some time away from football after the Indianapolis Colts were eliminated form the playoffs on the advice of his head coach Chuck Pagano, but with the team’s conditioning program beginning on Monday, he’s ready to get back and see one of his new weapons.

The Colts signed former New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks in free agency and Luck is eager to work with the former first round pick, according to Craig Kelly of Colts.com.

"“I haven’t had a chance to throw with him.  We’ve talked, though,” said Luck.  “He’s a winner, a vet, a good football player.  I’m very excited.”"

Nicks has battled through injuries and inconsistent quarterback play from Eli Manning the last two seasons and saw a drop in his statistics. However, with Luck developing into one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL should rebound nicely, and this time will serve as a prime opportunity for the duo to develop a chemistry.

“Every off-season is key in building rhythm, Luck said. That’s one of the bigger focuses as a quarterback.  (It’s) either build on the rapport you have with guys like a T.Y. Hilton or Reggie Wayne.  Also (it’s) to integrate the new guys, sort of feel each other out football-wise.  The work you put this off-season hopefully will pay dividends when the season comes.”

If you’re looking for a sleeper on your fantasy team this season it may be wise to look at Nicks.
