Joel Hanrahan throws for several teams

As he recovers from Tommy John surgery, Joel Hanrahan held an audition of sorts, throwing a bullpen session for several scouts of several teams.

Many beat writers are reporting that their teams were in attendance for the session; in fact, 16-18 teams were reported to be watching the former closer for the Pirates throw. The reaction to his outing ranged from “looked great” (according to someone talking to Nick Cafardo) and “not close” (according to someone talking to Andy Martino).

Among those in attendance were the Yankees, Red Sox, Mets, Royals, Tigers, Indians, and Rockies. Some that were not in attendance were the Astros, Twins, and Angels. The general consensus is that Hanrahan might not be ready until June.
