Mario Kart 8: Nintendo issues statement on rumor

Earlier this week, a juicy rumor started making the rounds regarding the upcoming release of Mario Kart 8 on Wii U. The rumor, originally from Gameblog, stated that Nintendo was set to release a Mario Kart 8 Wii U bundle to coincide with the game’s release at the end of May.

The bundle is rumored to include a 32 GB Black Wii U, a gamepad and Mario Kart 8. It will also apparently come with a free 7-day trial of Wii Karaoke U. FanSided reached out for comment from Nintendo regarding the rumor, and the company issued the following statement in response.

We don’t have anything to announce at this time.

This non-denial denial will continue to lead to speculation that a bundle is coming in the the near future. Whether it will be a worldwide release or European-only bundle remains to be seen, but there seems to be some legs to this whole Mario Kart 8 bundle thing.
