Mark Teixeira is looking to return to the Yankees’ lineup on Sunday, providing a huge boost to a team that has been decimated by injuries in a short time over this week.

Andy Martino of the New York Daily News and Erik Boland of Newsday are reporting that Tex is moving well as he participates in an extended Spring Training game. Over three innings, the first baseman has struck out looking and singled.

Teixeira has been sidelined with hamstring tightness since April 4th. The hamstring is only the most recent problem for the 34-year old, who admits that his body can’t handle an everyday regimen anymore. Tex also suffers from a wrist problem that has plagued him since last season.
