Roy Hibbert apologizes for critcizing teammates

Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert apologized Friday for calling his teammates “selfish” last month, telling ESPN’s First Take that such a public criticism wasn’t warranted.

Hibbert said he should have kept his complaints confined to Indiana’s locker room:

“You know, I think that I should’ve kept my frustrations to myself or just in the locker room.

“I will admit that it wasn’t the best thing to do. I’ll learn from that, and I was wrong. There are better ways to handle that than going to the media. All in all, I learned. I talked to my teammates; they talked to me. I’m willing to accept the criticism. It wasn’t the best thing to do.”

While there’s nothing wrong with what Hibbert said, I’m sure an even better apology would be a thorough butt-kicking of the Atlanta Hawks in round one. Nothing says “sorry” quite like a win.
