We always get some intriguing match ups on the opening weekend of the college football season, and this year we’re going to be treated to a meeting between the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Auburn Tigers as Gus Malzhan and company get set to defend their SEC title.
What we also have to look forward to this season is the launch of the SEC Network this August, and these two events will intertwine with one another as it was announced on Tuesday that this huge game will be one that will be broadcast on the channel to begin the campaign.

This game carries a lot of significance not just in the SEC race, but personally as well. During SEC Media Days last year, the rivalry between Malzahn and Razorbacks head coach Bret Bielema began when the Arkansas head man called out the fast-paced offenses in the game, which we now know ended up carrying the Tigers all the way to the BCS Championship Game last year.
In their meeting last season, Auburn trounced the Razoebacks, 35-17.
