Although Jay Z no longer owns a minority share of the Brooklyn Nets, they’re still his hometown team and Jigga Man reps the Nets until death.
The same can be said for fellow rapper Drake and his team, who is not only a fan of the Toronto Raptors, but was hired by the organization earlier this year to be their ‘global ambassador’.
Ironically enough, the two squads were paired up for a first round playoff matchup and Drake, appearing on TSN, decided to take the first friendly shot at his friend and colleague.
Asked where Jay was, Drake decided to give the Brooklyn-born rapper a bit of a ribbing, suggesting that he was busy some place eating fondu while the obviously gritty drake was slumming it by watching the Raptors from floor seats (and the broadcast table). Tough living.
Drake then went on to suggest that ‘they’ (the Raptors) need to keep it competitive, just seconds before the Raptors decided to turn the ball over. Oops.
