The Alabama Crimson Tide are having one of the greatest recruiting days we have ever seen, at least this early in the process.
The Tide have no received a commitment from 4-star linebacker Leo Lewis, making that four of the top 88 players in 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings that have given their pledge to the Tide on Saturday.
It started with 5-star cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick, who gave his pledge to the coaches and 4-star safety/wide receiver/athlete Shawn Burgess-Becker, who announced his decision via twitter after the Tide’s annual spring game. Then, 4-star wide receiver Calvin Ridley, Burgess-Becker’s high school teammate, decided to hop on the train and announced his intentions to play for the Tide.
The 6’3, 225-pound Lewis attends Brookhaven High School in Brookhaven, Mississippi, meaning all four commitments on the day are from out of the state of Alabama.
Lewis is ranked as the fifth-best inside linebacker prospect in the country, the third-best overall prospect in the state of Mississippi and the 68th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Lewis chose the Tide over offers from the Auburn Tigers, Clemson Tigers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and both in-state powers, the Mississippi State Bulldogs and Ole Miss Rebels.
