They did it again.
The Alabama Crimson Tide added their fifth commitment of the day when they flipped 4-star wide receiver Jovon Durante. Durante previously committed to the West Virginia Mountaineers back in July. Durante’s commitment never seemed that solid – he continued to take visit after visit and been receiving more and more interest and offers from big time programs.
The 6’0, 183-pound Durante attends Northwestern High School in Miami, Florida.
Durant is ranked as the 17th-best wide receiver prospect in the country, the 22nd-best overall prospect in the state of Florida and the 144th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite ranking.
Durante chose the Tide over offers from the big three in Florida – the Florida Gators, Miami Hurricanes and defending National Champion Florida State Seminoles as well as the rival Auburn Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, LSU Tigers and many others.
Today alone that gives the Tide commitments from:
- 5-star cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick
- 4-star safety/wide receiver/athlete Shawn Burgess-Becker
- 4-star wide receiver Calvin Ridley
- 4-star inside linebacker Leo Lewis
That gives the Tide 15 commitments in the class of 2015.
