The Cincinnati Reds have activated hard throwing left handed reliever Sean Marshall from the 15-day disabled list.
I’ll have to admit, I still miss seeing this guy in a Chicago Cubs uniform and was pretty crushed when he was traded. But it’s a business. Now the 31 year old lefty appeared in two Minor League rehab assignments with Triple-A Louisville and appears healthy enough to jump back into the Reds bullpen.
Now that Marshall’s back, he’ll more than likely work as a set up man infront of Jonathan Broxton.
With Marshall back on the active roster, the Reds needed to make room for the veteran lefty. With that being said, the Cincinnati Reds have optioned right-handed pitcher Curtis Partch to Triple-A Louisville. The 27 year old righty appeared in three games with the Reds this season and pitched through four and one-third scoreless innings.
If he continues to pitch well when he’s with their Triple-A affiliate, I don’t see why he wouldn’t be called up. I say they bring him back up sometime next month.
