In what has become the norm in college football these days, the Alabama Crimson Tide landed a commitment from a highly touted prospect.
On Saturday, it was 4-star safety/wide receiver/athlete Shawn Burgess-Becker that gave his pledge to Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide
Burgess-Becker announced his decision via his twitter account.
I’m committed to Alabama!

The 6’1, 185-pound Burgess-Becker continues a recent trend of Alabama going into Florida and being able to pluck out top tier recruits from all over the state. That list includes the likes of former Tide star running back Trent Richardson, safety HeSean Clinton-Dix, who will likely be the first safety taken in the 2014 NFL Draft and arguably Alabama’s best current player, wide receiver Amari Cooper.
Burgess-Becker attends Monach High School in Pompano Beach, Florida.
He is ranked as the ninth-best athlete prospect, the 18th-best overall prospect in the state of Florida and the 88th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Burgess-Becker chose the Tide over offers from the Auburn Tigers, Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs and Miami Hurricanes, among others.
