New Georgia Bulldogs’ defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt is looking for some immediate help along the defensive line for the 2015 regular season.
On Friday, Pruitt may have gotten just that when Junior College strong-side defensive end Quincy Vasser gave his pledge to the Bulldogs.
“I got an offer from Georgia and I verbally committed,” Vasser told Rutsy Mansell of 24/7 Sports. “I got the offer yesterday officially from Coach Sherrer. … He was basically telling me how I would fit into their defense and stuff like that. I will be a five (technique), that they run a multiple defensive front. He also said they will drop their defensive ends in pass coverage.”
The 6’4, 250-pounder who is from Corsicana, Texas and attends Navarro College, is obviously very happy with his decision.
“I am ecstatic. I am excited and cannot wait to get out there,” he said. “My mom told me to do what I thought was right, and she was happy for me.”
Vasser becomes the seventh member of the Bulldogs’ 2015 recruiting class, which ranks 18th, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
