The University of Louisville and adidas announced Thursday that their partnership has been extended for five years.
The new deal, projected to be worth $39 million, is one of the biggest in college sports, as ESPN’s Brett McMurphy highlighted on Twitter a few days ago:
Louisville’s $8M/year adidas deal ranks just behind Notre Dame ($9M/year, UA) & Michigan ($8.2M/year, adidas)

Besides a boatload of money
going towards paying student athletes for the school, the new deal means new uniforms. Exciting! Card Chronicle has the details:
Beginning in 2015, the Cardinals’ football team will be outfitted with five different Adidas uniforms, allowing dozens of varying combinations when including helmets. Louisville’s men’s and women’s basketball teams will continue to have three or four uniforms from which to choose, as well as special postseason attire.
It’s all about the #brand, baby.
