The Tennessee Volunteers are in the beginning stages of searching for their next men’s head basketball coach following the sudden departure of Cuonzo Martin to take over the Cal Golden Bears, and according to Gary Parrish over at CBS, that search has now turned it’s focus to Mike White of Louisiana Tech.
Tennessee’s search to replace Cuonzo Martin has now turned toward Louisiana Tech’s Mike White, a source told @CBSSports. Story coming …

White led the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs to an impressive 29-8 overall record in the 2013-14 season and a share of the Conference USA championship in their first year in the league. He was recently rewarded for those efforts with a six-year, $3.6 million extension, although a move to the SEC and the money Tennessee could offer may make that just a moot point.
It was originally rumored that the Volunteers would maybe want to make a splash with a big-name hire, but bringing in a young successful coach like White wouldn’t be a bad move.
