NHL Playoffs 2014: T.J. Oshie back in St. Louis Blues lineup for Game 2

The St. Louis Blues were unsure when star forward T.J. Oshie would return to their lineup after he took a vicious cheap shot from Minnesota Wild winger Mike Rupp a week ago, but the wait for his return is over.

After missing Game 1 of the Blues first-round playoff matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks, Oshie will be back in the lineup for Game 2 in St. Louis.

The loss of Oshie didn’t hurt the Blues chances of winning Game 1 back on Thursday night, but had he been there the game might not have done to three overtime periods. Still, he’s not only an American hero from his job at the Olympics but he’s a major factor in the Blues success as a team.

Having Oshie back is more than just a gesture, it’s something that puts them over the top against Chicago. He may be a bit rusty to start, but having Oshie back in the lineup is something that the Blues have been waiting for and the Blackhawks were hoping to avoid.
