UPDATE: Franklin has said that he is in talks with ONE FC about taking the job and will be discussing the opportunity over the next few weeks. Below is a statement from his Facebook page.
“I have been in talks with ONE FC about taking a job with them. They offered me a position as VP. I will be heading to ONE FC headquarters in the next few weeks to work out the details,” Franklin wrote.
“I met with Dana and Lorenzo at the end of last year and they gave me their blessing. I will keep you posted.”
Well, this would certainly come as a shocking development. According to MMA journalist James Goyder, former UFC champion Rich Franklin will be named the vice president of Asian mixed martial arts promotion ONE FC.
Rich Franklin has been appointed as ONE FC vice president. Wow!

No formal or official announcement has been made, but this will be an interesting rumor to watch.
Franklin, who has not fought since Nov. of 2012, has turned down recent fight opportunities from the UFC and this could give us an idea of why.
Not only is the former champ working as a business man with his new organic juice bar in California, but he can now add vice president of ONE FC to his resume if the reports prove to be true.
ONE FC recently made a big move by signing former Bellator welterweight champion Ben Askren, so this could be just the latest splash for the Asian promotion as they attempt to become more relevant around the world.
