The USC Trojans had one of the more tumultuous seasons in their recent memory in 2013, although they did better than probably anyone else would have to get by successfully. After firing Lane Kiffin following a humiliating blowout loss to Arizona State, the team implemented Ed Orgeron as the interim head coach and the team fired off six wins in their last eight games.

But after the season, instead of opting to keep Orgeron, the school decided to go in a different direction by hiring away former offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian back to run the program, setting the tone for optimism in Southern California.

Sarkisian has already made his presence felt by naming Cody Kessler the starting quarterback of the team this past week, right before the spring practices wrap up with this scrimmage on Saturday.

With that, let’s take a look at some of the main stories to watch on Saturday as the Sarkisian era gets off to its start in Los Angeles.
