2014 NBA Playoffs: NeNe to start in Game 1 vs. Bulls

According to several media members, center Nene will start in Game 1 against the Chicago Bulls.

After sitting out for six weeks and coming off the bench in his return, NeNe moving into the starting lineup to open up the playoffs, is a good sign of where he is health wise.

Without NeNe, the Wizards defense took a significant crop. Per NBA Stats, the Wizards defensive rating dropped from 104.4 to 99.2, going from middle-of-the-pact to elite on that side of the floor. Offensively, there was a little drop, but NeNe adds another threat on the floor.

“He make us so much better,” said reserve forward Al Harrington. “He’s essentially like another point guard for us. He can control the ball in so many different ways with the low post and the high post. It’s huge having Nene back and he’s just going to make us that much more dangerous.”

The Washington Wizards were 2-0 against the Chicago Bulls in the regular season with NeNe in the lineup.
