On Sunday night, “Game of Thrones” season four will return with the latest episode in what has been a thrilling season to date. It is only the third episode of the season, but there has already been plenty happening and fans are hungry for answers.
After last week’s episode, which featured the highly anticipated Purple Wedding, we are set to begin seeing some of the fallout in “Breaker of Chains.”
“Game of Thrones” director Alex Graves spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about the upcoming episode and he teased some spoilers that will have fans eager to tune in. Graves says that last week’s episode that featured the death of King Joffrey is just the beginning of what is to come, and that tonight’s episode features “one of the best speeches in the series.”
Graves added, “Episode three is in part an aftermath episode, where you settle and everything takes a turn toward the second half of the season.
“Joffrey’s death is a beginning. Ned Stark’s death was not an end — it was a beginning. It’s when the show began. All the deaths are like that, and Joffrey’s is no different. Joffrey’s death affects the show through to the climax.”
There was already a lot of excitement’s for tonight’s show, which airs at 9 p.m. ET on HBO, but Graves’ brief insight ramps things up to another level and makes episode 3 a must-see.
Tonight’s episode synopsis reads, “Tyrion ponders his options. Tywin extends an olive branch. Sam realizes Castle Black isn’t safe, and Jon proposes a bold plan. The Hound teaches Arya the way things are. Dany chooses her champion.”
