Miami Football Recruiting: 4-star running back Jordan Cronkrite commits to Hurricanes

Al Golden and the Miami Hurricanes got a big Easter present on Sunday as 2015 4-star running back prospect Jordan Cronkrite announced his intentions to stay in the South Beach area and become a member of the ‘Canes, he announced via his twitter account on Sunday evening.

Cronkrite, a 5-11, 196-pound back out of Westminster Christian School, becomes the 10th commitment for Golden and the Hurricanes in the 2015 class, and the second running back following the commitment of Dexter Williams a little over a week ago.

Having two running backs coming in for 2015 is good for the ‘Canes as there is a very good chance that this is the last year that we see Duke Johnson in a Miami uniform, so that backfield will need some re-tooling next season and these two young studs can battle it out for the starting position.

In addition to the offer from Miami, Cronkrite also had feelers from the Alabama Crimson Tide, Clemson Tigers, Arkansas Razorbacks and Cincinnati Bearcats, but he ultimately chose to stay at home for his collegiate career.
