NBA Playoffs 2014: League admits Chris Paul was fouled in final seconds against Warriors

The Los Angeles Clippers suffered a somewhat shocking defeat in Game 1 of their first round playoff series against the Golden State Warriors, though the NBA today admitted they made a mistake in the closing seconds of the game.

Per Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports, the NBA admits that Chris Paul should have been awarded free throws with 18.9 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

NBA concludes with 18.9 seconds left in Game 1 LAC Chris Paul was fouled by GS Draymond Green & Paul should have been granted 2 free throws.

Paul had a rather eventful afternoon at the foul line so it’s hard to say he’d have easily suck both, though a career 85 percent shooter from the stripe, if you’re a Clippers fan you’d have to like his chances.

The Warriors of course ended up winning the game by four points so those two freebies certainly would have made an already exciting game even more entertaining, assuming Paul would have been successful on his attempts.

I’m sure Clippers fans aren’t exactly thrilled with the ‘oops, oh well’ sentiment coming from the league though there were plenty of non-calls that Warriors fans could show displeasure over with as well as is the cast in every NBA tilt.
