During the NFL offseason and ahead of the 2014 draft, a lot of NFL writers are doing Q&A sessions with fans. Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer is no different, and while answering questions about the Browns No. 4 overall draft pick she made an interesting point.
“I think the Browns will also strongly consider Auburn offensive tackle Greg Robinson with the No. 4 overall pick,” Cabot wrote.
A lot of people think the Browns might be in play for a quarterback or even a defensive player, and while Robinson might not be a sexy pick you can never pass up a franchise tackle. It is important to remember that the Browns also have the 22nd pick in the draft later in the first round from their trade with the Indianapolis Colts.
That pick could be used on a quarterback if they think those listed at the best in the position will slip or if one expected to be available late in the first round is a good value or what they’re looking for.
