The Seattle Mariners (7-11) are currently on a six game losing streak after dropping to the Miami Marlins earlier today.
Pitchers Taijuan Walker, James Baxton and Blake Beavan are trying to work their way back to the big league roster but have to be cleared to start throwing again. According to the Tacoma News Tribune, all three pitchers could begin playing catch by the end of the week.
Walker was diagnosed with right shoulder impingement after he was scratched from his most recent rehab start after he was unable to get loose. Right now reports of his stamina is good enough to rejoin the Marlins starting rotation.
Paxton suffered a latissimus dorsi strain and is currently working on all of the muscles along his shoulder joint. He was placed on the disabled list at the beginning of the month after leaving his outing against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim as he felt a twinge in the muscle.
Beavan was also diagnosed with shoulder impingement after he was pulled from his last outing as well. Right now there’s no clear time table for his return.
