Yasiel Puig and the Los Angeles Dodgers (11-7) currently have a hold of the top spot in the National League West and are currently in action against division rival, the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Now during today’s game, outfield phenom Puig not only launched a three run home run down the bottom of the sixth inning, but displayed how powerful and accurate his arm is yet again. I remember Puig made a catch/throw out to first baseman Adrian Gonzalez from almost the warning track to end a game sometime last season.
During the top of the second inning, Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Miguel Montero laced a 2-2 pitch down the field field line and made a turn around first base looking to stretch the hit into a double. Dodgers outfielder Puig hustled towards the ball in hopes of making a play and did exactly that.
This is why you should never ever give up on a ball in play, because you always have a shot at throwing out a base runner. Puig picked up the ball and threw a laser beam to Hanley Ramirez to put the tag on Montero to record the out.
