The annual running of the Boston Marathon is taking place on Monday, and it has capped off what has certainly been one of the more emotional weeks in not only the city’s, but the country’s history as we reflected on the tragic events of last year and honored those that were unfortunately involved.
Running this race once again was the best way to honor those and remember what happened. However, some people can’t make the 26-plus miles that the event entails, but once again we were showed just how much the human race can band together and show compassion when needed.
As if this week wasn’t emotional enough, look at the photo below as one of the competitors who fell just short of the finish line, was actually lifted up and carried across that finish line.
The crowd exploded into loudest cheer I’ve heard today. Walking, then jogging, they all, all 5, finished the race pic.twitter.com/HE4QJnh35L

If that doesn’t bring the slightest tear to your eye, then you have to check to see whether or not you’re human.
