College baseball rankings: Baseball America releases latest poll; Cal Poly moves to No. 2

As we begin to exit the month of April and move into May, the realization of the 2014 College World Series in June being here shortly is starting to set in.

With that, the folks over at Baseball America have released their latest Top 25 poll, and while the Virginia Cavaliers are still the top team in the land, there was a change near the top.

After a week in which they went 4-0, Cal Poly has jumped over Louisiana-Lafayette for the number two spot in the latest rankings. The Ragin’ Cajuns went just 2-1 last week, allowing the jump to occur.

    Go Cal Poly!

They are #1 in Collegiate Baseball. As a UCSB fan, it’s great to see a Big West Team other than CSFullerton at the top spot. Cal Poly is on fire, big ups to their program.

UCSB deserves some credit for their season too. Only Big West team to be able to beat Cal Poly so far.
