In honor of our country’s military personnel, the New York Mets are about to start a new tradition.
For five Monday night games, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports, the Mets will wear camouflaged jerseys similar to the ones the San Diego Padres don every Sunday. One of those nights is tonight and the other four are July 7th, July 28th, September 8th, and September 15th.
The jersey, which can be seen here, features the fatigue colors with the traditional “Mets” in blue script outlined in orange across the front with the number on the left ribcage area.
The Mets host the St. Louis Cardinals Monday night at 7:10 EST from CitiField. Mets tickets are still available if you’re looking to go.
