While many believe that it will be Andrew Wiggins or Joel Embidd standing with Adam Silver after the first overall pick is announced in the 2014 NBA Draft, team executives don’t necessarily agree.
In a poll of front office personnel from all thirty NBA teams, conducted by ESPN, the executives seem to favor Jabari Parker as the top overall selection.
It’s almost assumed these days that the top overall pick in the NBA draft will come out of the Kansas program, whether it’s Andrew Wiggins or freshman teammate Joel Embiid.
However, in an ESPN poll of 30 NBA executives, it was Duke’s Jabari Parker who racked up more votes than both Wiggins and Embiid.
Of course, this is all subject to change as we’ve yet to see any players participate in workouts or the combine. Add in that executives are prone to changing their mind and while Parker may be the top choice at the current moment, it may be Embidd or Wiggins when all is said and done.
