On Monday, the Minnesota Timberwolves announced that Rick Adelman would be retiring from the NBA.

The big news following the retirement was that the Timberwolves were reportedly interested in Florida Gators’ head coach Billy Donovan.

They have also been tied to Iowa State Cyclones’ head coach Fred Hoiberg and Michigan State Spartans’ head coach Tom Izzo.

Another big name they are expected to show interest in is former Orlando Magic head coach Stan Van Gundy, according to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports.

Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio also had the scoop.

Van Gundy went 371-208 and 48-39 in the postseason in just under three seasons with the Miami Heat and five seasons with the Orlando Magic. He reached the NBA Finals with the Magic in 2009, losing to the Los Angeles Lakers in five games.
