The Detroit Lions will likely be in the mix for wide receiver at some point in the first half of the 2014 NFL Draft, but one position they have not linked to is tight end. However, the top player at the position, Eric Ebron, doesn’t believe that is the case.

In the latest column from Peter King on MMQB.com, King stated that Ebron answered with “Lions” when asked who he thought would pick him.

While tight end doesn’t appear to be a glaring need on the Lions roster, Ebron would still be a great fit.

By adding a star at the position, the Lions would force opposing defenses to pay attention underneath which could allow Calvin Johnson to get open deep down the field.

The draft will take place in just over two weeks, so we will soon know whether or not his prediction is accurate.
