Following an up-and-down season which eventually saw the program make a nice run in the NCAA Tournament, Cuonzo Martin took the position of head coach of the California Golden Bears last week. Given the type of relationship he had with the Tennessee fans, the move wasn’t all that shocking, but it did leave the Vols in a bit of a bind.
However, they have now found their man in the 43-year-old Tyndall, who has had quite the successful run in Conference USA with the Golden Eagles, and will now look to replicate that success with a Tennessee program that showed a lot of flashes of making good strides lately.
