Former Alabama QB Greg McElroy calls Auburn Tigers the SEC favorite in 2014

With his NFL career now over, former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Greg McElroy has taken the role of an analyst on the debuting SEC Network. Only being out of college for a few years to this point, you would have to think that it will be difficult at times for McElroy to remain unbiased when he’s performing his new duties.

Well you can forget that as not only did McElroy recently show that he has no issues with being unbiased, he did so by calling the hated rivals of the Crimson Tide, the Auburn Tigers, the favorite to repeat and claim the SEC title in 2014.

“Once quarterback situations are established at LSU, at Alabama — and Ole Miss is also kind of a scary team out in the West as well,” McElroy said via College Football Talk. “Bo Wallace comes back and some of the things they were able to do. The West is wide open and it’s difficult, but I definitely think the Auburn Tigers are the favorite.”

Yeah, there is certainly no bias toward Alabama there as McElroy crossed that ultimate line as a Crimson Tide alum, while at the same time proving that he can be a good analyst by welcoming the hate with open arms.
