The NBA Draft class this year is starting to fill out nicely as even though players like Willie Cauley-Stein and Montrezl Harrell are returning to school, other top prospects will who are declaring are starting to become even more valuable than they already were.
Case and point being Clemson junior K.J. McDaniels, who is not considered a lottery pick but is widely considered to be a sleeper pick in the fist round who could end up retroactively being a top pick. According to Yahoo! Sports insider Marc J. Spears, McDaniels is set to officially declare for the draft this week and leave his Clemson career behind.
At the moment, McDaniels figures to be picked anywhere between the Chicago Bulls at No. 16 overall and the Miami Heat at No. 26 overall. There are plenty of teams in between that range like the Oklahoma City Thunder and New Orleans Bobcats (soon to be Hornets) who would jump at the chance to add McDaniels wing athleticism to their roster.
No matter where he goes, McDaniels is declaring his intentions to kick start his pro career and the expectations about his rookie season are already mounting.
