NBA Playoffs 2014: Kyle Korver blocks Roy Hibbert....again (Video)

At this point, watching Roy Hibbert has become painful. He’s struggling on defense, his rebounds have dropped drastically, and he can’t finish around the rim. In fact, for the third time in two games, Kyle Korver, shooting guard of the Atlanta Hawks, blocks the 7-foot-2 center’s shot under the basket.

Kyle Korver’s perception around the league is similar to that of every white player who is a great three-point shooter: he’s a poor defender. On contrary, that isn’t true at all. Here’s a stat that’ll blow your mind. During the 2013-14 regular season, Kyle Korver had only two less shot blocks on the season (24) than superstar forward Lebron James (26). James finished top-ten in Defensive Player of the Year.

Both player struggled in tonight’s game, with Kyle Korver shooting 1-of-5 and roy Hibbert shooting 1-of-7. Despite embarrassing Hibbert twice in back-to-back games, Roy and the Pacers got the last laugh tonight as they blew out Korver and the Hawks 101-85 to tie up the series 1-1, heading back to Atlanta for the next two games of the series.
