The Utah Jazz currently hold the fourth best odds to secure the first overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. Needless to say, they’ll need a little luck to end up with the number one selection but if it comes their way they’re likely to draft Duke’s Jabari Parker, this according to ESPN’s Chad Ford.
During his weekly chat, Ford went on to say that while the Jazz have yet to make a decision on who’ll they draft (that will be determined after they know their position), it’s the general assumption that Parker is their top choice given his ability to step in and play immediately.
Wiggins, Parker and Embiid would all be in the mix for No. 1. However, there would be a ton of pressure in Utah for them to take Parker and given the teams’ trajectory (they really don’t need more raw young players) Parker’s ability to play right away and have an impact make sense for them. I think they are, far and away, the team most likely to take Parker No. 1.
The Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers and Orlando Magic all have larger odds of securing the first pick.
