Borderlands going offline

When GameSpy closes down its servers for good on May 31, 2014, it’s going to be taking some great games down with it. 2K Games has announced that Borderlands, as well as other titles, will be see their online services shut down on the PlayStation 3.

Borderlands will still be playable online on the PC after a brief migration period that will see its services taken down. 2K games did state that they are looking at ways to potentially bring online services back to Borderlands, and Civilization Revolution, on PS3 down the line.

“We are currently investigating the technical feasibility of transitioning those titles,” the company said. “Again, players will not experience interruptions to offline play for these titles.  We will provide updates as they become available.”
