NBA Playoffs 2014: Al Jefferson expected to play in Game 2 vs. Heat

The Miami Heat will be taking on the Charlotte Bobcats in Game 2 tonight in South Beach and while the game is hardly a toss up, the status of center Al Jefferson was. But after taking a few days to rest his planter fasciitis, it appears that Jefferson will do his best against the Heat and play in Game 2.

“I can’t say there won’t be some kind of pain,” Jefferson said of his status fir Game 2, via Rick Bonnell. “But I feel like every hour it’s getting better and better.”

While it seems trivial to play anyone against the Heat int he first round, the Bobcats did get off to a nice start in Game 1 in large part thanks to Jefferson’s solid offensive play in the post. But after he left, things dipped downward and the Bobcats seemed to have maxed out their luck in the first quarter.

Still, having Jefferson back gives the Bobcats something close to a fighting chance and that’s really all they can ask for.
