Following the sudden departure of Cuonzo Martin to take over the California Golden Bears, the Tennessee Volunteers reached an agreement after a minor search with Southern Miss’ Donnie Tyndall to become the next head coach of the men’s basketball program, an exciting time for both parties involved, no doubt.
Well, it appears that Tyndall got really excited when he was signing the agreement to head to Knoxville. Tyndall got so excited, in fact, that he apparently forgot what year it is.

I mean, at least he was in the right decade.
After a successful run in the NCAA Tournament, Martin left the Voluunteers program after what was a rather rocky regular season that saw some of the Tennessee fan base calling for his firing, as well as the re-hiring of former coach Bruce Pearl.
Tyndall comes in to run things now after leading Southern Miss to 29 wins last season and hopefully to keep the Volunteers in national title contention…in the year 2014.
