NHL Playoffs 2014, Stars vs. Ducks final score: Dallas evens series with 4-2 win

Facing the possibility of going down 3-1 in their series against the Anaheim Ducks, the Dallas Stars came out guns blazing in Texas on Wednesday night to even the series 2-2 and force a Game 6 at home later next week. Things got heated at the end of the game but the hottest thing in the game was the shooting for the Stars, as they managed four goals against the Ducks and chased Fredrik Anderson in the third period.

After the Ducks jumped out to a 2-0 lead, Jamie Benn kicked off a scoring barrage that saw Dallas score three more unanswered goals by Vernon Fiddler, Cody Eakin and Alex Goligoski getting in on the fun.

Things got ugly at the end of the game as the final two minutes saw a lot of extra circular activity rest in a few ejections to try and keep the peace. Fists flew to such an extent that a fight on one end of the ice negated what would have been the fifth goal of the game as Jaime Benn’s empty net goal was called off.

But while Benn’s late empty net goal was waved off, the other four goals the Stars scored counted and this series will head back to Anaheim tied 2-2 with this one still likely to go either way.
