Robert Griffin III to drive NASCAR pace car

Like anything good in life today, it’ll all started with a tweet.

”@RIRInsider If y’all don’t have a Grand Marshall for the upcoming race you should invite @RGIII. He needs to come check @NASCAR out! #HTTR”

That was a message that Dale Earnhardt Jr. sent to the official Twitter account of Richmond International Raceway last month about Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III being a part of the upcoming race at the speedway. After what appeared to be purely public “negotiations”, RGIII will not only be at Richmond this weekend, but he will be behind the wheel as the honorary pace-car driver on Saturday night after telling track president Dennis Bickmeier that he was “down” to take part.

RGIII will drive the car prior to the start of the Toyota 400 Owners.
