UFC 172: Referees, judges announced

UFC 172 takes place on Saturday night at the Baltimore Arena in Maryland, with an event that is headlined by a light heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Glover Teixeira.

With the event just a few days away, the Maryland State Athletic Commission has announced who will be serving as referees and judges for the weekend.

“We have great confidence in the ability of the 12 MMA officials we have selected,” said Patrick Pannella, Executive Director of the Maryland State Athletic Commission.  “Our team of officials, inspectors, and ringside physicians is looking forward to regulating UFC 172 and reflecting the Maryland State Athletic Commission’s high standards.”

The high standards are showing with some of the best referees in the sport assigned to Saturday night’s event.
