The Ultimate Fighting Championship has confirmed on Thursday night that a familiar face back to the octagon. Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski has re-signed with the promotion after fighting outside of the UFC since 2008.
UFC president Dana White first hinted at the signing on his official Twitter account.
There had been rumors building in the past few days that the UFC was interested in bringing Arlovski back after he was able to put together a 6-1, 1 no contest, record in his past eight outings.
Arlovski was under contract with World Series of Fighting, but they decided to part ways with the 35 year old and the UFC wasted no time in scooping him up.
The Belarusian, who has a 21-10, 1 NC record in his professional career, will now be looking to continue his winning ways inside of the octagon.
According to Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com, there have been preliminary talks to match up Arlovski with Brendan Schaub.
