Earlier this week, Meb Kelezighi became the first man to win the Boston Marathon since 1983 and on Wednesday he received another honor. When the Red Sox were taking on the heated rival New York Yankees at Fenway Park, Keflezighi got to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Kelezighi received a custom jersey with the number 26.2 to reflect the distance of the marathon, and also got to hang out with the likes of David Ortiz and Derek Jeter before the game.

It was a great honor for Keflezighi to get the opportunity to throw the first pitch, but it seemed like a perfect fit after winning the race that means so much to the city — especially one year after the bombings that rocked the community.
