A new trailer has been released for Evolve by developer Turtle Rock Studios and publisher 2K Games that features some commentary.
This is a co-operative first-person shooter where four players hunt an alien monster that’s controlled by a fifth player. Some of the game mechanics are that both hunters and monsters can use unique abilities. The monster player can kill other smaller creatures to evolve and become stronger by going into a cocoon stage, leaving itself vulnerable for a short duration.
The game will take place in a large jungle, with some industrial elements where players can take shelter. There are also various power ups that can be taken by both hunters and monsters players.
Victory can be achieved for the hunters by killing the monster. While the monster can either kill the four hunters, or complete a secondary objective such as destroying a human base or power plant.
The two side will have different classes, the hunters having: a trapper, a support, a medic and an assault class. Only one monster has been revealed so far that’s been called “The Goliath”.
According to Total Xbox, Evolve will have a single-player campaign for the people that prefer to play alone.
Evolve is set to launch in the fall for PS4, PC and Xbox One.
