After deciding a few weeks ago that he would be transferring from the Duke Blue Devils so he could be closer to his ailing mother, quarterback Brandon Connette officially announced on Thursday night what we all knew was coming, that will be with the Fresno State Bulldogs in 2014.

With the Bulldogs’ campus only being about a four-hour drive from his home in California, this was the perfect fit for the senior who will be eligible to play immediately.
As far as on the field goes, that’s the key, being able to play immediately. With the loss of Derek Carr to the NFL, Fresno State could more than certainly use the help at the QB position this season as they navigate their way throughout the Mountain West, and Connette will have a huge leg up on the competition.
In 2013 for the Blue Devils as they made their march toward the ACC Coastal Division championship, Connette finished the season with just 145 yards while splitting time with Anthony Boone, however he did also register 13 scoring strikes, and brings a bit of mobility to the Bulldogs’ offense as well, rushing for 14 touchdowns in 2013.
