The Chicago White Sox have been doing just fine with Leury Garcia manning second base since the beginning of the season.
Now, they plan on bringing back the familiar face of Gordon Beckham to the fold as the team announced that Beckham will rejoin the team in Detroit. Scott Merkin reports, however, that Marcus Semien will start at second today with Conor Gillaspie monitoring the hot corner.
Beckham opened the season on the disabled list with an oblique strain and has been rehabbing with Double-A Birmingham. Interestingly, Beckham’s return prompted the Pale Hose to send down lefty pitcher Charlie Leesman instead of one of their utility infielders in Garcia, Gillaspie or Semien.
