NBA Rumors: Oscar Robertson says Carmelo Anthony should sign with Houston Rockets

NBA legend Oscar Robertson appears to be a pretty big fan of Carmelo Anthony and doesn’t seem to feel as if the former Orangeman has much chance for success by staying with the New York Knicks.

That’s why the former Royals icon says he thinks Anthony should sign with the Houston Rockets this offseason.

“I would leave today [if I were Carmelo],” Robertson said.

“If he goes to Houston, they’re gonna win everything,” Robertson said.

Shockingly, the Rockets would have the cap space to sign Anthony, assuming they get a little creative with their finances and trade Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin for low/expiring deals so the suggestion of Anthony making his way to Texas isn’t exactly over the top.

The All-Star forward would be joining an already impressive Rockets roster and could be a ‘Big 3′ that may rival that of the Miami Heat.

Few teams will have the available space to bring in Anthony as a free agent, even less will have a situation he deems acceptable so the Rockets are understandably one of the favorites to bring in Melo.
