The NFL Draft is just around the corner and teams are starting to look at some of the deeper round prospects who might be able to come in and help them fill some holes in 2014. One of those players is South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw, who isn’t a top prospect this year but is garnering some serious consideration as a middle to late round pick.
According to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post, Shaw is drawing interest from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders and Cleveland Browns among other teams.
Over the last eight days, Shaw has either met or worked out with the Atlanta Falcons, Tennessee Titans and the New England Patirots.
Shaw has worked out for the Patriots twice, including their quarterbacks coach, and has also met with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
There’s a pretty good chance that he gets drafted at some point and used as a backup or third stringer in his rookie season. No one is expecting Shaw to be a starter, but he has skills that teams are interested in and it’s sounding like he can expect to be drafted at some point.
