Bills believe Sammy Watkins on par with A.J. Green
Clemson Tigers wide receiver Sammy Watkins is expected to be the first wide receiver taken when the NFL Draft stars on May 8, and there is no doubt that plenty of teams are high on the speedy wideout. One team that appears to be extremely high on the receiver are the Buffalo Bills who select ninth overall.
During the team’s pre-draft press conference on Friday, Bills director of player personnel Jim Monos stated that he feels that Watkins is on par with A.J Green and Julio Jones in terms of a talent perspective. That being said, Monos considers Watkins more of a Percy Harvin style of player.
For the Bills to have a chance to draft Watkins, a trade up would likely have to be done. That is something that Whaley stated he would consider if the right deal presented itself, stating that he learned early in his career to “never say no” until he hears the final offer.
