Friday afternoon it was announced abruptly that the Virginia Cavaliers’ leading receiver from 2013, tight end Jake McGee, would be transferring out from the program. While he only compiled a little over 350 yards last season, he did not have the talent surrounding him to accentuate his athletic talents, so he still will be highly coveted by teams all around the country, especially since he’s eligible to play immediately.
Well according to Robbie Andreu of the Gainesville Sun, the pursuit might not be that long because it may be only a matter of time before McGee lands in the SEC with the Florida Gators.
Gators are in the mix for Virginia TE Jake McGee, who is graduating and will be eligible this season. Source says he’s UF bound.

With new offensive coordinator Kurt Roper still installing the new offense within the Gators and starting QB Jeff Driskel returning, McGee would be wise to make the move to the south with head coach Will Muschamp and the rest of the Florida crew. He’d fit in perfectly with that Roper is doing with the system, and would more than likely have a lot more than 300 receiving yards with the Gators.
